Youngberry Pie

  • 3 cups youngberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 pie crust
  • 1 tablespoon butter

  1. Preheat oven to 230°C.
  2. Wash and drain the youngberries. Add sugar, cornstarch and salt. Grease a pie plate with butter and then lay the pie crust and fill it with loads of the fruit mixture. Carefully fold the edges so that the fruit mixture doesn’t come out of the crust.
  3. Make a few small cuts on the pie to vent out the steam while cooking and also for the heat to spread even.
  4. Cook for 10 minutes and then reduce the heat to 180°C.
